I made two things this week that said Happiness, although I didn’t realise til yesterday. Perhaps it’s more ‘notes to self’.

The first was an envelope of joy for Jeanne; I saw a drawing of a ribbon with lettering on and decided I wanted to have a go. Boom. Done. {I love quick art.}

The second thing was a Happiness Jar. If you follow Elizabeth Gilbert on Facebook you may be familiar with the idea. It goes thus {in her words}:

“JAR OF HAPPINESS. I made a vow to myself years ago that every night I would write down the happiest moment of my day and save it forever. I did this for a long time. This photo is my most recent JAR OF HAPPINESS, loyally filled with little scraps of old bills and junk mail, with the best moment of each day scrawled on the backs. For some reason, over the last year, I have let the practice go—not because I’ve been sad (even in a sad day, after all, there is always one least-crappy moment) but because I’ve been too busy. Too busy to take 10 seconds every night to preserve the simplest and happiest moments of my life? ENOUGH! Time to start stuffing the jar with joy again! I’m beginning again today. Who’s with me?”

I felt a bit crap last night, so I thought, I’m gonna make a Jar! It took about five minutes. There are so many opportunities to  notice and share the little things in our lives that we can be grateful for ~ blog series, Instagram themes etc ~ and it’s so quick to just note it down and remember what’s good.

My first little scrap of paper said ‘making my happiness jar’. 🙂

Wishing you a happy weekend! And if you decide to make one too, please link up/share in the comments!

xx
