As promised, here’s a little peek around my slightly-not-so-new-now home. Today we’ll be covering the rest of the living quarters, and next time, the studio, as it has a floor all to itself and really deserves to be the centre of attention.
I thought it might be interesting to use the images from the estate agent particulars before I bought the place, to see how it’s changed since I got my sticky paws on it. The photo above shows the view into the main living area from the little hallway around which the bedrooms and bathrooms sit. The stairs to the left lead up to the studio, the doorway to the right is the main bathroom. To my left is my bedroom, behind me the spare room, and to my right is the cupboard with the washing machine in it.
I haven’t done much to the bathroom yet except fill it with stuff; it’s not my dream decoration but any changes in here are on hold as removing and replacing all those tiles is not going to be cheap.
There is still plenty to do in the spare room too; I have it set up and it’s useable for Reiki but ideally I’d like to repaint the walls, hang paintings, add something pretty at the window and remove the crap on the right hand side of the room which I’m not showing you.
As you can see, the previous owners had quite a fitted furniture/neutral scheme going on. I’m enjoying the blank canvas but ultimately I would like to add some soft colour in here too, and some pretty window drapes. I’ve got the basics in here though; this bed has been with me a LONG time, and also I’m loving having some light coloured ‘quiet’ art in here. The painting above the bed is by Jeanne, the one in the corner by me, and on the left you can see my earring display.
A bit closer up:
This is my little ensuite shower room. Still essentially as I found it, but with some Feng Shui cures as it’s in the prosperity corner and the whole water draining away aspect isn’t good for that. It’s not particularly pretty but it’s such a total treat to have a cosy little room to fall into on cold mornings, and that shower is awesome on the power front.
I hope you enjoyed this little tour. I kind of wish I had more dramatic changes to show you but rest assured should/when any actually happen, you’ll be the first to know. 🙂 It’s all a process anyway; I move things around all the time according to how I feel so it’s really an everchanging palette.
*squeee* my nosey-parker self is delighted to have a noodle around your digs…
i’m curious what your “cures” were for the shower room…something is telling me i’ve got a prosperity leak around here somewhere…LOL

Such a beautiful and cozy home you have. Filled with so many personal but inviting treasures. Thanks for sharing. Can’t wait to see more of that studio soon!! xx
What a sweet place you have Tara, thanks for the tour. What cures did you do in the bathroom? Are those leaf decals yours? I like it, wood element, upward flow. 🙂
Maybe I should do a “where the heck is my prosperity corner” blog post. 😉

Thanks Cecilia, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Yes the leaf decals were from Ebay for the upward movement thing, and also I’ve put a plug in the shower. I’m planning to put some big flowers or something at the top of the lines of leaves for extra energy! I thought I might do a post about what Feng Shui cures I have around the place; it’s very basic and I’m thinking as I type that I could provide some useful links to guide people in the right direction ~ including yours of course! I’d love to read a post by you on prosperity corner stuff as well. 🙂
