My desk used to belong to my granny when she was alive. It was dark brown wood, with a somewhat disintegrating leather inlay on top. As a sort of birthday present to myself, I asked Laura Diez at Lollipop and Pepper in Lewes to do a makeover on it. I knew I wanted it to be turquoise, {obvs} and Laura had the perfect Laura Ashley wallpaper to complement my paint.
I’d stumbled on Laura’s work on a trip to Lewes a few months ago; you can see from her website that she is extremely accomplished at her craft. Each piece is finished so carefully, with around 15 layers of varnish! Laura will work with you to produce exactly what you want, and will collect and drop off your item as part of the service. She’s so lovely to work with, I knew she’d do an amazing job and she really did! And super affordable too.
Here’s a very bad ‘before’ photo. I think it’s good that it’s very bad because it makes the after look even better. 🙂
And after {before I covered it ~ very carefully ~ with my computer and other desk essentials}:
Isn’t it gorge? I’m so happy with it!
Big fat thank you to Laura. 🙂

Gorgeous, gorgeous!!
oh SUCH a work of art…. how special it is for you to have this in your home. i LOVE LOVE the turquoise color and the lovely little extra touches (like the flower patterns & ribbon!) She did a fantastic job.
Great make-over! it is gorgeous – I am left feeling a little “desk envy”! ;o)
That’s a wee bit gorgeous and in the wallpaper my daughter used to have in her bedroom too(until she decided she wanted to be all bright and funky ;o) an awesome transformation x
Ooohhhh myyyyy goooooddddd. That is BEAUTIFUL. Wow wow wow. You have a problem now though… You’re gonna spend all your time drooling over the desk rather then working ;D
Fabulous!!!
