Are you sick of the endless photos of works in progress yet? No? Fabulous. Remember my first half hour painting from Wyanne’s Paint Free class? Busy, to say the least.
The next step was to write two letters, paint over them, cut them up and stick them onto the half hour painting, to make it into a new painting. I won’t give more details than that as it seems unfair to Wyanne.
Here is an appalling photo of my two letters covered in paint. Some people in the class did beautiful paintings over their letters. I did not.
Which is just as well as I probably wouldn’t have wanted to cut them up. What I did do though was cut them up WAY TOO SMALL. I am not known for my patience with fiddly things, and although I consider learning patience one of my life lessons, I really did not feel duty bound to apply it here.
I did start sticking the bits down, as you can see in the bottom left corner! Ugh. It drove me mad(der) quite quickly. And since I’m an adult and don’t have to fear detention if I don’t do as I’m told in class, I decided to go off on a bit of a tangent.
I tell you, you can’t go wrong with a bit of dry brushing and white paint. I saved all the circles and the fishy shape and consigned the rest to faded grandeur. 🙂
More to come on this.
Haha..this made me laugh..there are no art police and it is good you did what felt right!
What a wonderful painting! I especially like it before the white screen effect (I guess I like the fiddly busy-ness of it:) What a neat class!
Oh and I am stopping by from Goddess Leonie's (saw your comment), have a blessed day!
I really like how you picked out what you wanted and dulled the rest…
am looking forward to the more to come… x
I agree with you about fiddly bits haha!
Love the bits you've kept and the faded background.
Looking forward to more.
don't like fiddly bits at all!!! So I love that you took your own approach and did it your way!
I always love to see how some people love a thing and others love the complete opposite! Room for all of us in the world!
