I just coined that term. Catchy, huh. Or not. ANYHOO, I had this “painting” that made me feel really cringey every time I looked at it:So I painted over it. Several times. Then I added a bunch of collage, some more paint, and then I sat down this morning and did this:
And some of this:
And a bit of this as well:Until it was finished. It’s kind of like a winter tribal painting. Or something. Still not sure I like it, but I like it more than the first incarnation.
Tara, this is so cool! I love it–that's what's great about mixed media. You can never go wrong–if you don't like it, just paint, collage, stamp, etc. over it until you do.
you know what? i liked the first painting AND i love the second incarnation too! love the snowy feel of it all! x
Diane – thanks! It's all about the layering!
Tam – Well I picked up the doodling ideas from a very cool artist teacher! 😉 x
Hi Tara,
I have to tell you the truth. I liked both the incarnations and can't explain which is best among the both. The art was really catchy. I am happy to see your blog completely dedicated to aquamarine. It is a powerful gemstone too.
Thanks for the post.
I love that 'winter in the garden' feel. Beeeaauuutiful 😉
I just love this… it really does have a wintery feel!
