I found this site ages ago while pootling about on tinterweb, and thought,” I’ll have a go at that”. Then I proceeded to do nothing about it for quite some time, until last Friday, when the word of the week was ‘strong’ and I had an idea while slobbing on the sofa that evening. Ting!In case you aren’t aware, Illustration Friday is a website that puts out a word every Friday, chosen by one of the followers, and then the challenge is to create a piece of art that reflects the word. Anyone can join in, with any style of art you fancy. Have a little looky, you might be inspired! They feature one on the homepage as well, which if you sell your work is great advertising.
PS. I’m hoping it’s sort of obvious why I painted it with this week’s title. Feel free to interpret at will.
Awwww, the weight of the world on her shoulders! Beautiful piece Tara!

She doesn't seem to mind the weight of the world on her. Seems like she is focusing elsewhere. I like how you have used circular shapes. Lovely image!
Beautiful painting- I love her deep eyes! I scrolled through your blog and I LOVE your post about your house/studio. LOVE IT! It looks like my house- only better, because you have those nice wood floors. That post made me laugh out loud. Thanks for sharing. And your blog is so much fun to read- I'll be back!
Beautiful. Strong and serene…
