Once again, nothing like the inspiration. I also did this one really small, about 18 x 13cm, on a canvas board. Working small changes the whole dynamic of it, which I really enjoyed.
There was a point at which I felt I’d captured all the colours in the right sort of proportions, but there was more of the class left so I kept adding and now it’s a bit too bluey green and gold. (Note to self; work out how to age the painting without going too yellow.)
But I still love it.
And anyway, it was inspiration, not direct copy.
