This is my piece for Suzi Blu’s final class in the Goddess and the Poet workshop. I’m not QUITE as pleased with her as I was with the blue girl, and I still have no text for it, but it’s ok. If nothing else it has taught me which materials I like to use most. I say NO to watercolour (so hard to manipulate!), but yes to pencil crayons for building up subtle layers that come together beautifully and give depth and interest.
I’m also loving using transfers and stamps, and the torn fabric ribbon was fun too. And see that grey thing on her cheek? A doodle I did in 6b pencil, then scribbled over the back and transferred it to her face. Love it! It kind of makes me want to draw on my own face, but I’d better not as I have to go to work now.
She's lovely Tara, you have used all the elements Suzi suggested with great success. You've made me want to start my gypsy.
(You made me laugh too….go on, draw a tattoo. Just don't use a permanent pen.)

Saw your Mary on Suzi's main page and thought she was gorgeous, as is your gypsy!
Oh she is SO gorgeous. The pencil rubbing on the cheek looks brilliant.
Your art is really fantastic.
You have a wonderful blog.
