There are times in the year, or in our lives, when making art simply cannot be a priority the way we’d like it to.
That said, I don’t believe that we need to lose our creative selves altogether when there’s a lot going on.
I’d go so far as to say that those are the times we MOST need to move well-filling activities up the priority list, counterintuitive though it feels.
{With the caveat that of course sometimes there just isn’t time or bandwidth, and that’s fine and to be expected. It just doesn’t have to be the default.}
I love to do a bit of problem solving, so I came up with an idea that’s basically the Swiss Army Knife of creative projects. ππ§
It’s a mini workshop that creates the opportunity and focus to pull out some of those old and unfinished paintings {or the ones that just didn’t work out}, and put them to good use!
It factors in:
β° the time limitations
π©πΌβπ¨ our innate need to be creative
π the need for cards to send to loved ones
πΈ spending considerations
π¨ that pile of paintings on paper that didn’t work out
And even better, it’s something you can use repeatedly, year round!
The Make Cards From Your Art workshop is not rocket science, but it gives you a space, a purpose, and ideas and guidance for a creative half hour.
Top up your card stash and your wellbeing at the same time. π
All you need is half an hour, some old paintings on paper, scissors, glue, and blank cards.
Oh and it’s only $9.
You’re welcome. π
PS. Please share it with any artists you know who might need a way to keep their creative thread going during busy times, or who would appreciate ideas for repurposing old or unfinished paintings!
PPS. Tag meΒ @taraleaver on Instagram if you make any – I’d love to see, and would be happy to share them in my stories.π
