Keeping the Faith

This is what I call a ‘Painting from the Inbetween’. Sometimes in life we find ourselves in a transitional period, one where everything is changing and the ground we were used to standing on starts to shift into new configurations. It’s a process, not a one time event, and it can feel both exciting and unsettling. Sometimes paintings emerge from these periods; they are usually characterised by familiar motifs and colours, but perhaps something new or a little different happens.

Keeping the Faith is one such painting; my usual delight in linework and layering remains, while the colours have subtly {or not so subtly!} shifted, and the painting moves further into abstraction.
