  • Emily Lynn Downey
  • Christine Lukas
  • Christa Stein

Congratulations! I’ll be in touch via email shortly! Even if you didn’t win a place this time, do keep an eye out for an email from me as I have an extra offer for you. :)

***

It’s that time of year again! Abstractify runs in March this year {and then not for another year, so now’s the time to jump in if it’s calling to you!}, and as always I am giving away TWO places.

The course, in a nutshell:

Abstractify is a painting course devoted to helping you paint like YOU. It’s about moving beyond copying those who teach and inspire us, to find the richest, most fulfilling creations within us. Abstractify guides you towards your truest self expression through art, whether you’re a beginner wanting to dip your toes in, or have some experience under your belt but could use some focus and refining. And when you’re the most yourself, the more enriched your own life, and the more you have to offer the world. :)

If you’d like to enter, here’s how it works:

  1. Share this post somewhere {You can do this by either pinning one of the post images to Pinterest, sharing the square image below on Instagram, or highlighting any of the text in the post to share to Facebook or Twitter, or even in an email. Feel free to do as many as you like – in which case please leave one comment per extra share for bonus entries.}
  2. Leave a comment below telling me why you’d love to take the course {Don’t worry, this isn’t a competition! It just helps me know that you want to be entered and what’s prompting it. I’ll be picking the winners at random.}

That’s it! Ain’t nobody got time to jump through hoops.

The winners will be drawn on Monday 13th February, {when Earlybird registration will open}, here on this post and also via email. If you want to receive that email rather than re-find this post, you can sign up here. You can also find out from that link what the course is all about {including a free sample lesson} and whether you might actually want to win a place on it! :)

Please note: If you don’t leave your email when you comment {there’s a dedicated box for it}, you won’t be eligible to win. I need to be able to contact you!

In the meantime, if you have any questions about the course and whether it might be right for you, contact me and I’ll get right back to you.

Abstractify Giveaway 2017 - win a free place on this painting course devoted to helping you discover what's uniquely yours about your art.

Good luck friends! Thank you for helping me to spread the word, and I’m looking forward very much to seeing you on the course. :)

Each exercise provides just enough “instruction” and “rules” to get me started. Before I know it, I’m off doing my own art, inspired by Tara and all of the wonderful artists she presents in her slide shows… Tara encourages artful play and experimentation and the structure of the course and each lesson has helped me develop my skills, style and confidence. Fellow students are encouraging and everyone approaches the lessons so differently – I love that!

Oh, Tara, this is so timely. One of my intentions for this year is to try and loosen up my painting, to be freer, more intuitive, more joyful!
Painting my little pebbles is wonderful but it is painstakingly precise work. How wonderful it would be to open myself up to a new challenge! You continue to provide me with inspiration through your work and the sharing of your journey. Thank you.

  • Eloisa Costoso says:

I havent done any art work for the last six years. Frustration with classes which were only interested in teaching ‘realism’ art and copying other artists made me drop it all together. I’m keen to start again with more experimental, abstract art but need guidance as I really don’t know where to start.

  • Tina yon says:

I would love to deepen my art and I love the FB group that you have created. A warm friendly group :) I would love to better myself as an artist

  • Rowena Katigbak says:

I’ve been challenging myself this year to find my style. I’ve been exploring different mediums and styles. I’m moving in the right direction but I’d definitely benefit with more guidance. I love your writing. Your blog and Instagram feed are so inspiring! Thanks for this lovely giveaway 💖

I would LOVE to win a place on this course, it’s been on my desire list for a looong time! I feel I’m finding my style but I’m not there yet in my painting and I’d really like guidance and help in finding my way because truth be told I feel a bit lost. I know this course would help me find my way. Thanks for the opportunity Tara it’s so very appreciated. Xx

  • Karin Vermeulen says:

Hi Tara, this is the one course that I’ve been after since I started making art 20 months ago.
I would REALLY enjoy this and I believe it will give me the confidence to dive into abstract art fearlessly. You are generous to a fault.
    Thank you.

  • I would love to win this course. I am feeling so stuck in painting in everybody else’s style, I just want to do my own thing. Thanks for offering the opportunity of winning a spot since I can’t afford it at the moment!

The last few weeks I have been itching to explore more in the way of Abstract and then I spot this from you Tara. I would love a place on your course. Got everything crossed and I’ve pinned it, instagrammed it, facebooked it with pleasure! Thank you for this opportunity. Good luck everyone <3

  • Dolly Traicoff says:

I need to loosen up, to paint my way, but finding “my way” has been difficult. Looking forward to your input.
    Thanks

Thanks so much for the chance to win a spot in your course. I’d love to take it to learn some new techniques in my art.

  • Thank you, Tara! I get so frustrated that all my work looks like someone else’s. I’d love to take this class and work on developing my own style.

  • linsey says:

I would love to do this course. I want to loosen up my painting and mark making to develop my own style.

  • Emily says:

I was so miserable at abstract art in art school but I’ve always been intrigued to actually ‘get the hang of it’ so this course would be an amazing opportunity! Thanks for this giveaway!

  • Tara says:

Thank you for this opportunity. I’m excited and inspired and have been thinking non-stop about art since finding you online. I’m plugging my way through the Artist Inspired course and it’s getting me back in the groove. This is the year I make art a greater part of my life, it’s been missing the last while. It’s time.

  • Hi Tara. I’ve been experimenting with abstractifying with the help of one of your recent videos (the one with the palm trees). It’s fun! But it’s obvious that I really have a lot to learn still. For instance, I’m mutilating my poor paper! I’d love to delve deeper into this as a participant of your course.

  • Hi, Tara.

I would love to be able to win a spot in your next abstractify class. I am an artist whose depression & lifes circumstances has gotten the best of her & I can’t seem to find a way out to my art. I haven’t created art is many years because of paralyzing fear & feelings of inadequacy causing a never ending cycle of self doubt, anger, and inactivity. I found your blog just this week and feel I have found a kindred spirit in you. Thank you.

Hi Tara, oh to make time for myself and my art once more has been such a distant dream ; being a winner will turn this into a reality for me as I will have all the encouragement from you guys to express myself in 2017

  • Carmen Wing says:

Thanks for the chance Tara, I’ve just shared on Twitter. (@whoopidoo_ings) I’d love to be included in your giveaway. I’m going to uni in September and at the moment it feels like everything is conspiring against my going. So I think a little experimentation would definitely get part of me ready. (Cos I am determined to blimming get there!)

  • Carmen Wing says:

Just shared via Instagram :) (@whoopidoo.ings)

  • Wendi Pinkerton says:

I’m hoping to win a chance to take your course! I am on a fixed income and have a hard time making ends meet. I’ve been painting and doing mixed media for only 2 years now. I haven’t been able to get past a few roadblocks in my art. Your lessons look like exactly what I need to get over that hurdle. Some days I feel like I should just give up but I love painting and doing art so much I don’t think I could ever quit no matter what. I’m hoping I get the chance to learn from you.

  • Angela licciardi says:

I’m a mum of a superstar 2 year old who has inspired me to be true to myself, how can I teach him to follow his dreams & passion – if I don’t walk my talk.. so nov last year I finally closed my graphic design business which although was flourishing – I was not. And with all the doubt of being a wage down, I knew I had to find the artist within & give myself the chance to be/explore what my heart & soul has called for since I left uni 20 yrs ago.
So I have this year to dive in and create, it seems I have so many images ideas but it’s always different?
I’m yet to find MY style…
‘Tara, Please give me that chance to find the artist within, with you as my teacher…’ and if not thank you for considering. Much love.x

  • Ellie says:

Hi Tara, I love abstract art and I’ve been in your groupe for some time. I like you as an artist and a tutor. I think, it is time for me to find my own style, language and niche.

  • Natalie says:

    HI Tara,

I’m new to abstraction and learning the skill of abstractifing what I see is something i still need to learn. Thanks so much for the chance to win a place :)

  • Karen baker says:

The course description has such an energy to it that I am drawn to it.
It’s the experimentation that sounds so exciting, encouragement and a little direction whilst enjoying a more open process.

  • Izabela says:

I need some help! I haven’t done any art for few months. I just have no motivation.
My hope is that the course would inspire me and help me to pick up paints and brushes and be creative again.

  • Sally summa says:

Hi Tara, it sounds like an inspirational, motivating course which I’ve pinned wether I win or not. I love to experiment but need a push. I find myself painting and saying would so and so like this? Anti-creative. I know when I stay truer to self it lights up my art. This has been a very challenging year and I would welcome a spot to assist in refocusing on my offerings artistically.
Thanks for what you share. Sally

  • Sally summa says:

I think you want another comment if Abstractify gifts are on more than one sight?
I like the description of the course and it’s endless availability. The few courses I took long ago experimenting -brought out creativity in me that surpassed what I’d hoped for and surprised me and others. Sally, shared on Facebook too. Please email winners to me.

  • So excited about this course!! I am following your blog and on instagram and enjoy your process immensely. I need to find a way to loosen up and find my voice in the multitude of directions I am taking. Thank you for sharing your art. I posted to Pinterest and Twitter.

  • I would love to win a place. I am still experimenting a lot with colours, motives and media. I would like more clarity what is exactly my thing. I often feel overwhelmed by the choices I have and I feel that maybe a more minimalistic / “zen approach” would suit me.

  • Nisha says:

Hi Tara! I have been painting for quite a few years now but still I feel like I need to be able to convey what I want through my paintings. I feel the need to find “my style” and to be true to my painting. I believe that your course will go a long way in helping me achieve that. Thank you for inspiring me through your blogs and e mails…..

  • Olimpia says:

This is so great! I’m an art teacher looking to incorporate more abstract / abstraction work with my students.

  • Linnea says:

I am a struggling artist. Not in the “I am an established artist and it’s a hard and competetive field” way, but in the “I have always loved creating and now my inner critic has taken over” kind of way. I am looking for challenges that will help me feel comfortable creating again and will get me playing with paint again. Your course jumped out at me as a wonderful tool to find the joy in creating again. Looking forward to it!

  • Jill Christensen says:

Tara I would love to take this course. I am having trouble letting loose and I need to find my style. I really would appreciate this course. Jill

  • Victoria says:

Excellent idea. Have pinned and hope I win. I need the inspiration. Thanks for the opportunity
