pen and ink class :: week two

I’m really enjoying this class, and pen and ink as a medium.Today we used black Quink with a brush, which gives lovely yellow and blue tones when you add water, and pigment liner pens for outline and detail.

I’m finding I get great pleasure from balancing large, loose areas with careful detail. I also learned that next to white/lighter areas you can put dark and vice versa, which really makes the image stand out.

And I’m very happy with this dude.

I'd love it if you'd share!

  1. Tara, i would be very happy with this “dude” too!! AMAZING…
This is what i love most about you (and your work)… you go out of your “safe” zone.
Something we’re not always comfortable to do. Your work is incredible, whether it is pen and ink,
or paint, or watercolor. You have a rare talent – i hope you know this.
Hope you’ve been well, girl. Love and lollipops from Canada… xoxo

  2. Oh Tara, this is absolutely stunning. Amazing, amazing work!! I’ve never heard of Quink but if this is what it produces I need to get me some of that! Keep up the gorgeous work! xx

  3. I’m loving this pen and ink work!

  4. Wow Hun that is some awesome work you did there!!!

  5. Hi, Tara! This is wonderful to see! I love the dynamics of the figure and the shading–brill! This summer I’ve been sketching a bit more for fun but seriously too, and it’s been a great addition to the creative stream. Thanks for you kind comments at my place–so sweet you stopped by. The Flora Bowley course is AMAZING–best time & money I ever spent on me. ;o) Great to visit you here and catch up… we were travelling a bit this spring and I’ actually doing two creative courses now and my time is all over the place…. LOL… I was so sorry though to learn you’ve been having a rough time for a while now… Blessings to you, and hope things will turn around. :o ) ((HUGS))
